Tonight I had the pleasure of shooting Clawson High Vs. Warren Lincoln. This high school game turned out to be even more exciting than I anticipated. The action was exciting, the crowd was into the game, the atmosphere was perfect. If only Pistons games were on this level, lol, just kidding… See for yourself. 🙂Continue reading “Clawson High School Football Vs. Warren Lincoln 10/11/13 – Homecoming”

Baseball and Softball
Today I shot baseball and softball games simulataneously at Southfield Christian. While I wish I could have covered each game in its entirety, no such luck. I did get a couple images I was decently happy with, though I have not gone through my images yet. I havent had time to edit them as ofContinue reading “Baseball and Softball”
Scheduling miscommunications, and Soccer
So today yet again, I was shown the reason why yet another piece of gear is absolutely necessary to do a good job. I need a super telephoto. Games like soccer, football and baseball require a longer lens. I was limited to my 70-200, and a 100-300. I really needed a 400mm or longer. JustContinue reading “Scheduling miscommunications, and Soccer”
Memorial Day 2013
On memorial day I was on assignment for C and G Newspapers. I had a good time shooting their parade as well as a ceremony afterwards. The O’rourke family were the Grand Marshalls of the parade, honoring their father who was a police officer that was killed in September of last year.
Recent Work
So my posts lately have gotten few and far between. I have been fairly busy, working, working, and working. I have been busy shooting for C and G as well as working with a Pro Photog in the area. A couple of the assignments for C and G were rather enjoyable. I like shooting sports, butContinue reading “Recent Work”
Woods, Kites, Smiles, Laughs, and Deer Poop
Today was a fun assignment for the paper. I was assigned to photograph a nature camp at the Lloyd Stage Nature Center in Troy. When I arrived, the group was going on a nature walk. I quickly tried to get ahead of the group so that I would be able to capture the group walkingContinue reading “Woods, Kites, Smiles, Laughs, and Deer Poop”
“A Chorus Line”
Today I was assigned to photograph a musical at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts. Â Since I am using a 1d mk ii and a 50d, I was a little worried about the iso performance in the dark theatre, but I was surprised. I have not tried making a print of any of myContinue reading ““A Chorus Line””
Inspiration
Today while working on assignment for the paper I met a very interesting and inspiring individual. He takes care of and maintains a 1970 Mustang which he as owned since it was built. The inspiring part comes when you learn that the man is blind. He cannot view his hard work the way that mostContinue reading “Inspiration”
Youth Basketball
Today I shot my cousin max’s basketball game up at Troy High. It was the second to last game of their season. Shooting youth basketball is a lot different than shooting the Pistons, but has some similarities as well, because the same game is being played, just on different levels. I had to bump myContinue reading “Youth Basketball”
Memphis Grizzlies Vs. Detroit Pistons
Tonight’s game wasn’t too terribly exciting. In fact, it was a little dissapointing. No wonder the stadium has been less than half full all season, filling to 3/4 only when the Heat, Lakers, or Clippers are in town. Tayshaun and Austin Daye returned to the Palace today for the first time as Grizzlies. I madeContinue reading “Memphis Grizzlies Vs. Detroit Pistons”
Cavaliers vs. Pistons a Photographic Endeavour Every Game
Tonight’s Pistons game was more energetic and interesting. The game was more fast paced than the last few have seemed, and the crowd was even seemingly more energized. I am not sure what it was that made the game feel that way, since the stadium was still only at less than half its’ capacity. I hadContinue reading “Cavaliers vs. Pistons a Photographic Endeavour Every Game”
Detroit Pistons Vs. Oklahoma City Thunder
After a week and a half on the road the Pistons returned to the Palace and faced the Oklahoma City Thunder. After living in Oklahoma for a year, I never became a Thunder fan. But my girlfriend is, so I must be careful what I say about them 😉 The game was very close, andContinue reading “Detroit Pistons Vs. Oklahoma City Thunder”
